DISPENSING JUSTICE

On the way back from jury duty I listened in on a gentleman having a furious argument with someone pretentiously hiding out in the fifth dimension. Which was very unsportive of him. Despite clear communication being obvious. My sympathies were with the fellow I could hear, a most put-upon chap. All else being equal, I always side with the visible entity.

Fortunately the disputating parties headed in a different direction.
I crossed the street in peace.

One thing I can say about the case sofar is that when the judge informed us that not a thing the lawyers said could or should be taken as evidence, I wholeheartedly agreed.
Not just in this instance, but in general, that is good advice.

This case involves a person who has a recognized gender having possible done something or not done something for which there are witnesses and testifying experts. Other people involved are a passle of jurors, a judge, two lawyers, a court clerk, and a bailiff.
It may be a matter of interpretation.
Or judgement.
Also in play: a bowlful happily enjoyed after lunch in an area which is actually quite beautiful, where the ocassional human wreck stumbles past. Such as the individual having the argument across different dimensions.

On the way there by public transit in the morning I witnessed a screaming match between a person in a wheelchair and a gentleman who had all of his physical faculties. The wheelchair person was in excellent mental health, did not appear to be psychologically damaged, carried himself quite rationally and calmly especially by comparison, and to my jaundiced eye seemed to be the wronged party and a hundred percent in the right.
The dispute was entirely in American English.
Us "foreigners" stayed the heck out.
We ain't stupid that way.

No chance of anyone going all MTG on us.
That happens too much already.
We live in SF.
