For twenty one years I've been the outcaste, the dark secret; now she wants to introduce HIM to her kinfolk.
For twenty one years, I didn't cheat on her, I held her above all others, I always came home to HER.

It counts for nothing. Because I somehow managed to not read the signs. She must've spent months thinking about it. And it no longer worked for her. Probably from early 2010 on, she reinterpreted, and obsessed about, our relationship. By spring she started to give up. And because of Aspergers syndrome, she vexed and worried, and could not even realize how much she meant to me, that our oneness kept me afloat - she couldn't see it, she couldn't understand what I should have communicated better - and she let it slide.

A normal woman would, after so much shared history, perhaps have talked about it.

Dammit.

She, instead, fixated on the aspects that didn't work for her.
It festered.

All through those last months it fermented, it rotted in her estimation. Her own secret tunnel vision hell. She should have shared.
She broke off a relationship of twenty one years in the summer. I didn't see it coming, she hadn't said anything. We're both on the Aspy spectrum - it excuses her entirely, she's worse than I am. But maybe a fully normal man might have noticed a few clues.

My obliviousness prevented me from recognizing portents, her major Aspergers kept her from seeing how it would, how it did, affect me.


Would I have done anything different?

Yes. And no.

She has been probably the best thing that happened to me. She kept me sane. She kept me from pursuing a weird and flaming finality.
She still does.

And oddly, I am now the stronger person in what's left of our "relationship".
She tells me about him. She weeps on my shoulder when her situation with THAT man is not evenkeeled. She reveals her frustrations.
She listens to me - I am the person she has known best for twenty one years, her entire adult life. I can finish her sentences, as she does mine. Who knows her better? And I comfort her when things get rough.

So yes, the fact that she has finally decided to do the right thing - no longer hide her life from her family, admit that she is not the perfect Chinatown daughter - hurts.
Dammit all, it hurts. Because I was there for twenty one years - I held her when she wept over the deaths of people she loved. I was the person who stood by her when she was frustrated with her brothers or angry at her sisters-in-law. I was there when her mom came down on her and made her suicidal. I explained her weird Chinese family dynamics to her - things that she experienced and should've understood, yet had not the exposure or reading to figure out.
And I never even met the people who always made her miserable - I know them vicariously, but they never heard about me.


Yet, when all is said and done, after twenty one years, I am the "roommate", the best friend, the wise elder - but HE is the son-of-a-bitch whom she wishes her family to accept.

It is as if I do not exist.

Frankly, this whole situation stinks for me.

I am happy that she is 'going straight' with her life.

But dammit, I deserved better.


Oh, and by the way - all of you Chinatown folks who kept saying that I should find a nice Cantonese girl, why heavens, a kwailo who speaks our language really should hook up with someone Chinese - except heaven forefend it would be one of YOUR daughters - go f*ck yourselves.
It is your g-ddamned subculture and biases that made this happen, your venomous attitudes that dominated our lives for over two decades and kept everything in the shadows.
It was your horrid preconceptions and miserably patronizing opinions of whitey, your sneering disapproval of Chinese-American women dating outside the tribe, that informed the secrecy that we kept.
Even if, ESPECIALLY if, the person she was attracted to was a clever white boy, "yat goh ho lek-ge sei-fan-gwai".
And every time you found out that I spoke Cantonese better than her, you treated her like garbage, and acted like I was some kind of misguided well-trained pale monkey - oooh, smart kwailo, why ARE you seeing this stupid girl?
Yeah, screw you, and screw your inability to value your daughters, screw your racism, and screw your sexist dominating bitch-ass insistence that whitey is just not suitable for a decent Chinese woman to associate with; and above all screw your idea that a Cantonese-American girl with TWO college degrees, a good person with sound values, intelligence, kindness, common sense, and a deep and abiding ability to grasp what is right and good in this world, has done something irredeemably wrong by hanging out with a lofan.

Five years ago Joran van der Sloot and his friends caused the disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway. In the days and weeks afterwards, Joran's father Paul acted as accesory to the crime by helping his son cover-up his involvement, and likely was instrumental in fogging-over the haphazard and apathetic investigation by Aruban and Dutch authorities.

Now van der Sloot senior has passed away, and with it any hope of ever finding out what that man did to protect his repulsive and despicable son.

GOOD RIDDANCE

This turn of events no doubt pleases many in the Netherlands, as the facts of the case are now even less likely to ever be revealed, and Dutch law-enforcement can happily claim his fortuitous demise as an excuse. Had the murdered girl not been an American with a loud and persistent mother, her death would have excited no interest whatsoever, and the case would have been dropped within hours. After all, well-connected burgers cannot be accused of malfeasance without upsetting the societal apple-cart, especially in a tourist goldmine, where any sex-crimes and violence might frighten away the foundation of the economy.

Most of the comments underneath both articles in the Telegraaf are remarkably cold towards the victim (Natalee Holloway) and criticize Mr. De Vries for his statement. Several express condolence to the van der Sloot family, and regret that Mr. van der Sloot died at so young an age (57).

I cannot help but feel that the Dutch don't give a damn about the girl (who was an American, which is manifestly not a virtue in the Netherlands) and that in many ways they envy the van der Sloot's lifestyle and access to sexual exploitation. Certainly Jordan was a hero to many who in the months after Natalie's disappearance refused to believe that he had anything to do with the case and insisted that the girl deserved what she got.
Peter de Vries by his doggedness in pursuing the case showed that not all Dutchmen are swine, and that, remarkably, there are indeed decent people with a keen regard for justice in the Netherlands.

At least the van der Sloot family can bury their dead; Joran and his dad made sure that the Holloways will never have that priviledge. The truth about what Joran and his drinking buddies did to Natalee, and how the corrupt and incompetent Arubans coddled the van der Sloots and covered the trail, was buried long ago.

HATE: CHURCH SANCTIONED IN BERKELEY

The Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists (BFUU) plans to host notorious hate-monger Gilad Atzmon. The event in question will a be a charity performance on behalf of the Free Gaza and International Solidarity Movements, co-sponsored by Bay Area Women in Black.

Got that? Not to Jews. Not to Rwandans. Not to Cambodians. Not to Bosniaks and Kosovars. The holocaust belongs to a group that has continually insisted that it will drive the Jews into the ocean, and has praised mass-murderers and psychopaths.

In one of his articles he calls the Israeli Government a "rabid right wing Zionist organization", and Israeli society 'clever, sinister, and calculating'.

THE BERKELEY FELLOWSHIP OF UNITARIAN UNIVERSALISTS

What is truly reprehensible is that the Unitarian Universalists in Berkeley have jumped on the anti-Semitic bandwagon. Hosting Gilad Atzmon cannot be seen as anything else. Gilad Atzmon is opposed to the existence of Israel, in the same way as the Women in Black, in the same way as ISM, in the same way as so many groups in the Bay Area. It is an instinctive, culturally sanctioned, and utterly ideological hatred of Jews and of a predominantly Jewish state.
It represents a complete rejection of Jewish values, Jewish identity, and Jewish worth.

The Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists, by hosting this event, prove themselves worthy heir to every tyrant and depraved ideologue in the pantheon.
It was probably too much to ask that they take a stand against socially approved politically correct bigotry - it would be so very un-Berkeley and far too decisive.
One just can not expect that of them.

EUROPEAN SEXUAL DEGENERACY

One of the things which upsets European visitors to San Francisco is the rather paltry and haphazard prostitution here. Apparently there are so few opportunities for abusing the fairer sex that, somehow, we seem less of a city. Not at all world-class.

I was of course flabbergasted when I first heard this, as I had always assumed that we had a lively grown-up sex trade, and more than adequately catered to the depraved whims of our visitors. But no. Several Germans and Englishmen, as well as two drunken Dutchmen, have complained bitterly about the lack of by-the-hour opportunities.
We are totally inadequate, in their estimation.


HUMAN TRAFFICKING

In a way this is understandable. Nearly half of all women trafficked worldwide end up in Western Europe, many in establishments in Germany, Holland, and England. Over two hundred thousand Eastern European girls are sold to houses in western Europe every year. Places like Moldova and Macedonia are central to this trade in teenage female flesh, with the smuggling route often going overland through various Slavic and Germanic territories - to the immense profit of officials, it must be added. But Asian and African women are simply flown in on spurious visas, thus enormously benefiting the consular services of the destination countries.

Many Western European young men are accustomed to cap off a night of binge-drinking by brutalizing a third-world woman. Sometimes the entire group happily heads out to the red-light district. It's a bonding experience, much like Berkeley frat-boys heaving up their guts in the Tenderloin.

Anyone wishing to study the world's languages need only spend a few hours in the red light districts of Hamburg, Rotterdam, and London, to get plenty of gritty real-life linguistic exposure. Rotterdam of course dwarfs the other two cities in that regard, and the Dutch are talented linguists in addition to being central to the European sex slave trade. Other important players are the Turks, Yugoslavs, and Italians - but for sheer bold enterprise and chutzpah the Dutch take the cake, having set up brokerages in many third-world countries, even going so far as to recruit Philippinas in the Persian Gulf who wish to escape their brutal Arab employers.
All of this benefits huge numbers of Netherlandish, Belgian, German, and British men, whose tastes and preferences preclude normal relationships.

MALAYSIA - RACISM, BIGOTRY, AND A BOYCOTT

Apparently Muslim Malaysians are now boycotting American products.
This despite the products in question being made locally by Malaysian companies - which, per fiat, have to be minimally 30% bumiputra-owned (as opposed to Malaysian-Chinese), which means that those who will be hit hardest will be Malaysian citizens.

In one sense, this is an outgrowth of the xenophobia traditional among the kampong-electorate, though this most recent manifestation is because of our foreign policy, especially our support of Israel. Malays have an unhealthy dislike of everyone who is not of their faith, most particularly Chinese, Indian, Jews, and Americans.

TRADE

Very well. Let's look at some ideas. The U.S. is Malaysia's largest trading partner, while Malaysia is the tenth largest trading partner of the United States, currently allowed very favourable terms, and bucking for FTA status.

At present, trade amounts to over fifty billion dollars, mostly computers, computer accessories, telecommunication equipment and electronic goods. Nearly half of U.S. exports to Malaysia are semi-conductors.

Companies that use Malaysian manufacturing are General Electric, ConocoPhillips, Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard and Oracle, among others.



MALAYSIAN APARTHEID POLICIES

Malaysia is one of the last countries practicing a form of apartheid, namely the Bumiputra policies, which give ethnic Malays (mostly defined as Moslems and Borneo tribal peoples) preferences over the Chinese and Indians. For purposes of discrimination, Chinese who have been there for several centuries are classed as outsiders, while recent carpet-baggers from Java and Sumatra are considered natives. Anybody who converts to Islam almost automatically becomes a native, though conversion from Islam to other religions is forbidden. The gentleman quoted above, though technically a foreigner (being descended from South Indian Muslim stock), is by the peculiar logic of the Bumiputra policies native because of his religion. Yes, Malaysia is also one of those countries where religion is a basis for discrimination.

The term for conversion to Islam is 'jadi melayu' - becoming Malay. Which indicates that the main targets for Bumiputra-policy discrimination are Chinese and Indian - precisely the people whose enterprise and gumption for the past two centuries have made Malaysia a modern nation.

The main beneficiaries of the discriminatory laws are the coastal settlers from Sumatra, Riau, Borneo, and Java, as well as the descendants of Bugis pirates and Minangkabau adventurers, who only since the clearing of jungle during British times have moved inland in substantial numbers.


The Bumiputras who do not benefit from Malaysia's peculiar form of apartheid are the non-Muslim tribal peoples of Borneo, who are systematically robbed by Melayu (Malay) and Melanau (Islamic convert speaker of Malay) settlers. Nor, oddly, are the Tausug and Samal (who are indigenous to certain areas of the Sabah coast) beneficiaries, as admitting them as natives would be disadvantageous to Melayu and Melanau .... settlers.

Ethnic Malays, of course, consider their discrimination perfectly normal. And regard us as less than human.



CONCLUSION

In short, this pestilential piece-of-drek country has utterly no business telling the rest of the world what to do. And would be well advised to shut up, and not try a boycott. Especially not now. Not if they wish continuing talks on a Free Trade Agreement to go anywhere.

It would be worth your while to bring this up with your elected representatives, and with the American companies listed above, as well as others. And I encourage you to let your voice be heard.

With one exception, these people are either members of the Socialistische Partij or members of front-organizations, often both. Egypt brokered a truce that took effect in June, but since then, Palestinians still fired 223 rockets and 139 mortar shells from the Hamas-controlled enclave.

The Palestinian death toll continued to climb on Monday, yet Hamas still managed to pour rocket fire on Israeli cities such as Ashdod, more than 20 miles to the north of the Gaza Strip, bringing a million Israelis within range of the fighting.


What that last part means is that any Israeli living twenty five miles or less from a Palestinian is probably in danger. As good an argument for imposing a twenty five mile wide no-mans land as any I've seen.

LAST NIGHT AT THE AIPAC DINNER

As was to be expected when AIPAC brings their traveling dog and pony show to San Francisco, both the pro-Israel and the anti-Israel camps showed up to demonstrate.

The displays of anger from both sides were impressive, the displays of sanity and rational behaviour far less so.


I had several conversations with members of the other side. Some were better than others.

Oddly, the good conversations were with people who identified themselves as Jewish, though they came in solidarity with the 'destroy-Israel' crowd.
A number of them voiced valid concerns.

My conversations with Arabs were far-less salutary - I listened to several of them working themselves into fits of rage, almost always culminating with 'destroy Israel', or similar sentiments. I doubt that any of them will ever acknowledge Israel's right to exist within secure borders, and a cessation of rockets, bombs, assaults. They are capable of homicidal fury, and several of them apparently do not believe we are human (which they expressed quite bluntly, with absolutely no possibility of doubt).
But a number of them did voice valid concerns.


There were chants conveying that Israel would be destroyed, wiped off the map, "liberated", expunged, punished, enslaved.
Not surprising.


Some of the slogans chanted by the other side reflected a depravity to which I had heretofore not been exposed - in particular, "Israel supporters watch your back, we will throw you down a shaft".


This refers to one of our core-members who was found dead last week at the bottom of an elevator shaft. I do not take the chant as an admission of guilt. But I do take it as a very clear expression of threat, demonstrating that there are indeed potential murderers (and undoubtedly some who have already realized that potential) among the Bay Area Arab population.

In consequence, I shall cease shopping at Arab stores, and only take cabs chauffeured by Sikhs. While I like many Arabs, I cannot trust them. There is far too much hatred and bigotry in their ranks.
[Bear in mind, I have also heard unsanitary remarks about black people from Arabs - to quote an Arab food seller in SF recently: "You really think they'll let that nigger be president? Back in Gaza we say if you buy a slave, first buy the whip. Bush already has the whip".
What that same individual said about Chinese people several years ago was just as appalling. And his friends all agreed with him at that time. Such people are no credit to their kind.]


I am both baffled and outraged that Jewish Voice for Peace, Bay Area Women in Black, and others of the attending collaborationists did not protest at the quoted chant, nor disagree with the hateful anti-Semitism in that as well as other chants. Their "resolute" presence supported those messages of hate. What part of murderous inclinations do they not get?


And, speaking of people who are not a credit to their kind, I will freely admit that a number of our people should have been shot with tranquilizer darts.
I shall have to suggest an 'International Zionist Conspiracy' budget allocation to that end. We might also want to invest in some straightjackets, for those of our supporters who just cannot grasp what we are trying to do, or why.


Kudos to the SFPD for putting up with some very odd behaviour last night.
I promise you guys there will be more of the same at some point.

PAKISTAN TERROR CONNECTION

MUMBAI: "There were 24 of us who took one-year training in camps organised by Laskar-e-Taiba at Mansera and Muzzarafabad in Punjab province of Pakistan. Ten of us were later handpicked for the Mumbai operation,'' said Ajmal Amir Kasab during interrogations.

According to sources, Kasab, 21, the only terrorist arrested by the Mumbai police, told his interrogators that Abdul Rahman, an ex-soldier popularly called Chacha, had given them training.

The sources said Kasab explained that the training was divided into seven phases.
"He said the first phase was of ‘very hard physical training’ of three months which included running 10 to 15 km. The next three months were for marine training like swimming, surfing, diving and boating in high seas. The rest included arms and ammunition training,'' said a source.

After the training was over, they were sent to Mumbai for a "short internship'', Kasab is believed to have told the cops. This was the period when the accused did the reccee of the city and even went to the five star hotels (Taj and Oberoi), the sources said.
Sources said the Mumbai operation plot was planned in Karachi some six months ago. Joint commissioner of police (crime) Rakesh Maria said,"We are closely working with the all the central agencies who have earlier handled such situations.''

PAKISTAN A SOURCE OF TERRORISM

The Pakistani connection was evident from the very first hour. Such a level of organization pretty much proved that the terrorists had been trained elsewhere, and had been supplied by a hostile foreign nation. The idea that this was put into play by home-grown terrorists is laughable ab initio, and something that only a Pakistani could believe, or could want to believe.


Nor was this an Al Qaeda operation

Paki hatred of India is well-known, as is Paki sponsorship of terrorism.


Mounting this attack was not cheap and took many months to prepare. The entire operation could not have been kept secret for so long unless the security agencies of another country were in on it from the very beginning, and both the base and the training were in that other country.

That other country can only be Pakistan. The funding probably came from both the drug trade being run with Afghan opium by the ISI, and from wealthy Arabs. The logistical support must have been Paki military, the approval was by powerful Paki politicians with ulterior agendas, the cover through a corrupt and co-opted police force.
Certainly there are enough lashkaris and wahhabis in Pakistan, in positions of power, that Pakistan absolutely has to be suspected.

No other government is as likely a suspect.
Or even a possible suspect.

NUKE PAKISTAN!

I am in receipt of a disquieting e-mail from a gentleman with a very Marathi name, pursuant today's terrorist strikes in Bombay.

For those as yet unaware: 80 dead, hundreds wounded, gunfire for the last five hours. Terrorists holed up in the Oberoi and Taj hotels with hostages, as well as at GT Hospital. Attacks also took place at the Chhatrapati Shivaji terminus, Cama Hospital, Crawford Market, Wadi Bunder. Areas currently with a heavy army presence are Colaba, Girgaum, and Nariman Point.
It appears that the group behind this are Islamists, and to the Indian mind that can ONLY mean Pakistani Intelligence agencies. There are very good reasons for that presumption.


My correspondent writes:
"It was obvious that these attacks organized by Pakistanis striking India, and Congress only interested in gathering Muslim votes. There is probably clear link with Pakistani ISI and government. Pakistan have been behind all Muslim attacks previous, and funded mujahedeen groups like lashkar e toiba. They do not hesitate to treachery. There is no Deccan Mujahedeen, that is a name of convenience only. It is Pakistan, always Pakistan. Why is America supporting Pakistan? Can one not see how dangerous that is? How untrustable all Pakistani politicians and generals? I tell you, we should demolish that country. If India should shoot nuclear rockets at Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Karachi, that would solve this problem once and for all!"



Wiping Pakistan off the map is an extreme proposal, but my correspondent is absolutely correct in stating that Pakistan have been behind many previous attacks. The Inter-Services Intelligence agency has for two decades funded, armed, and organized Muslim terrorists in India, nominally in furtherance of Pakistani goals in Kashmir, in actuality in pursuit of a venomous Jihad against India.

Pakistani politicos have consistently looked the other way when not actually cheering ISI perfidy, likewise most Pakistani politicians have known ties with terrorist groups and are actively involved in both jihad and the drug trade.

Pakistan has time and again proven itself a most unreliable and untrustworthy ally, and Pakistan's involvement in Afghanistan continues to destabilize that country. Pakistan has been instrumental in the continuing existence of Al Qaeda, and in Osama Bin Laden's remaining a free man.
Pakistan is an enemy of India, the US, and the west.


In several ways, Pakistan is Sodom and Gomorra; it is doubtful that there are as many as ten good men in that pox of a place. Highly unlikely even half that number.


Nevertheless, leveling all of Pakistan may not be the answer. Pakistan might indeed be a wasteland, but not nuking the place is probably not a bad idea. And I am sure that once my correspondent calms down, he will surely see that even in Pakistan there are things worth preserving.

PRO-PALESTINIAN ACTIVISTS ATTACK JEWS ON CAMPUS

Follows a statement by the pro-Israel students at UC Berkeley regarding the violence directed at Jews on campus last night.

Members of Students for Justice in Palestine Attack Jews at UC Berkeley Hip-Hop Concert
(Berkeley, CA- November 13, 2008)

We, the Zionist Freedom Alliance student group at Cal, are deeply concerned by the latest in a series of attacks on Jewish and pro-Israel students at UC Berkeley perpetrated by members of Students for Justice in Palestine. On the night of November 13, 2008 at around 6:00 PM, members of Students for Justice in Palestine disrupted our hip-hop concert that celebrated the Jewish connection to the land of Israel. Then they attacked students who asked them to stop their disruption.

Three members of the Students for Justice in Palestine illegally draped large Palestinian flags behind the stage of the concert, which was part of Israel Liberation Week. Yehuda De Sa (one of the performers), Cal alumnus Gabe Weiner, and current ASUC Senator John Moghtader walked to the balcony from which the flags were hanging and asked the students to remove the flags as they misrepresented the concert's message. The SJP members immediately became hostile at this request and current SJP leader Husam Zakharia instigated a physical altercation by striking Weiner on the head. As Weiner and the performer tried to defend themselves, Moghtader stood away from the scuffle and then made a successful effort to break up the fight.

Members of Students for Justice in Palestine shouted anti-Semitic epithets referencing the Holocaust throughout the ordeal. Zakharia and others from SJP were detained by the police and charged with battery. Citizens' arrests were filed against SJP members who took part in the altercation.

The violence, intimidation, and harassment exhibited by members of Students for Justice in Palestine at the concert is only one act in a pattern of similar behavior that they have exhibited towards Jewish and pro-Israel students on this campus. Last year, multiple charges were filed against SJP and some of its members citing harassment, violence, intimidation, and violation of numerous other campus rules. These charges all went ignored by Dean of Students Jonathan Poullard.

We call on state officials, the President of the University of California, the Chancellor, the Dean of Students, faculty, and the student body to take a unified stand against the continued harassment of Jewish and pro-Israel students on this campus, particularly by members of Students for Justice in Palestine.

Bay Area universities have become, with the collaboration of administrators and the complaisance of many students, hotbeds of hatred and opposition to free-speech. SJP statement on violent anti-Palestinian attack on campus

Student organization "Students for Justice in Palestine" (SJP) is extremely concerned about a violent attack on three Arab Palestinian students on the evening of November 13, 2008 around 6:00PM, and calls upon campus administrators and authorities to immediately investigate the incident and bring those responsible to justice.


According to dozens of witnesses on the scene, three organizers for the "Zionist Freedom Alliance" attacked one male and two female Arab students who stood nearby the event holding a Palestinian flag. The assailants were identified by the Daily Californian to include current ASUC student senator John Moghtader, Cal alumnus Gabe Weiner, and performer Yehuda De sa. The paper also reported that all three had been cited by the UC Police Department on several counts of battery.

The three Arab students had decided to display the flag as a silent statement after hearing offensive anti-Arab remarks at the concert. They did not attempt to interfere with the event. Shortly after they put their flags on display, the assailants were seen angrily rushing into Eshleman Hall and disturbing several meetings to reach the protestors who were located on the 2nd floor balcony. Students on the scene report that the men were yelling racial epithets directed at Arabs and Palestinians.

When the assailants arrived at the balcony, they attempted to push the protestors aside and take their flags away. Witnesses claim that the assailants eventually knocked one protestor against the balcony railing, with a scuffle ensuing where two Arab students, one male and one female, were hit several times. Within a few minutes the assailants began to rush away, though a small group of their supporters had followed them upstairs. Throughout the process the assailants and their supporters were also overheard making remarks like, "we're about to take care of some f***ing Palestinians," and "you Arab dogs, we will kill you."

The group of assailants was eventually pushed away by a crowd of students who were waiting for the police to arrive and collect statements. One of the assailants accused his victims of assaulting him, causing citations to be issued on the victims despite the testimony of several witnesses on the scene refuting the claim. Fortunately nobody was seriously hurt during the ordeal.

SJP is concerned by the willful and concerted escalation to violence by these individuals, who are members of student organization Tikvah. SJP disagrees with the Daily Californian's characterization of the event as the result of "tensions between Palestinian and Jewish students." In fact, the incident was isolated, and the assailants are not representative of the Jewish community at Cal. After a series of similar threatening encounters with a handful of individuals this semester, SJP members began to document these incidents. Two of the attackers, John Moghtader and Gabe Weiner, were involved in another outburst at a campus lecture last month that led the Jewish Student Union to place Tikvah on probation [1, 2].

SJP calls upon campus administrators to pursue the incident immediately, and for students to remain committed to resolving their political differences through peaceful dialogue and discussion.

Tensions between Palestinian and Jewish students on campus ran high Thursday night after a fight broke out on an Eshleman Hall balcony overlooking a concert promoting Israel Liberation Week.

At about 5:45 p.m., as rap artists performed on Lower Sproul Plaza, three Palestinian students hung up two Palestinian flags on the building's second floor balcony, witnesses said. The students said they were responding to the anti-Palestinian lyrics they heard.

Upon seeing the flags, ASUC Senator John Moghtader, former senator Gabe Weiner and Yehuda De sa, the concert's opening act, went up to the balcony in an attempt to remove the flags. All three men are Jewish.

At that point, a fight broke out, police said. Witnesses added that the fight prompted up to half a dozen members of the audience to run up to the second floor. Police said two students and one non-student were cited for battery. Weiner was one of those students.

"I went up to the second floor because the message they were sending was an abomination to our national rights," Weiner said.

Senior Husam Zakharia, who was hit in the face during the altercation, said the rap lyrics he heard spurred him to hang up the Palestinian flag.

"We're going to go up and we're going to put up our Palestinian flag in silent protest-exercising our freedom of speech to say we're here and we exist," he said, adding that he was surprised by the violent reaction.

A number of UCPD officers and Dean of Students Jonathan Poullard spent at least two hours interviewing students and witnesses, attempting to piece together the series of events.

According to police, the fight was related to incidents of vandalism earlier this semester. In September, a bus stop sign outside Eshleman Hall promoting Israel was vandalized. That vandalism was followed by pro-Israel graffiti in a classroom in Dwinelle Hall, increasing tension among Israeli and Palestinian advocacy groups on campus.

As the altercation on Thursday night took place, Eshleman Hall's second floor was full of ASUC officials including President Roxanne Winston.

Many senators who saw the fight expressed shock that such an incident could happen among students, most notably former and current ASUC senators.

"I'm very strong now in my sentiments in that there should be immediate disciplinary action," said ASUC Senator Kifah Shah. "If it culminates to violence where three members of SJP (Students for Justice in Palestine) are hit ... then that's just ridiculous."

Background: As the Daily Cal is well aware, Students for Justice in Palestine has over the past several years promoted an atmosphere of intolerance on campus, in which Jewish and Israeli students, and their supporters, have been threatened and intimidated. Their actions have carried over into the Berkeley street, and have resulted in several incidents in which a pro-Israel view has been shouted down, speakers have been insulted and manhandled, and property vandalized.

This is mirrored by similar acts at other university campuses in California, notably at SF State and at UC Santa Cruz. School administrators and student body functionaries have not only been unwilling to step in, several are on record as stating that Zionism has no place on campus, and that Jewish support for Israel is, ultimately, the cause of such friction.

The atmosphere on the Berkeley campus was already nauseatingly anti-Semitic and poisonous before this provocation; it remains to be seen how much more vile it will become. This blogger does not expect any significant attempt by authorities and campus police to get to the truth of the matter. Especially given the increasing financial influence of certain foreign regimes in academia.

We wish the Jewish students on California campuses God-speed and the best of luck. It is a foregone conclusion that pro-Palestinian provocateurs will seek to make the academic environment even more poisonous and dangerous for Jewish students than it ever was.

It should be evident from the above that there is an element among the Dutch who are probably insane, certainly unreliable, and entirely despicable. Not all, but enough of them.

Sometimes I really wish that the North sea would rise and erase that poisonous little mud-blot from the map of Europe. The attitudes exhibited above, which were already prevalent during the early seventies, were at a higher level of fester each time I revisited the place in the nineties. I have not been back since 1999.
After the phenomenal venom that was puked forth on several Dutch internet forums discussing American policies, politics, and involvements since 2002, and the bitch-ass anti-American and anti-Semitic toxic waste on so many Dutch mailing-lists, I have little need and even less desire to ever visit the old dung heap again.

I fear that after only one week of being surrounded by such people I would incline towards murder, two weeks would mean mass-slaughter.

I would much rather leave such acts to the Turks and Moroccans who have to put up with Dutch arrogant ignorance on a daily basis. It would be both more fitting, and more deserved.

Collectively, the Muslims resident in the Netherlands have put up with so much, for so long, that all of them, even their extremists and morons, qualify for saint-hood. As do most foreigners who have the misfortune of living there.

MURDEROUS NEANDERTHALS IN SUFFOLK COUNTY

One of the most disturbing things I have read in recent weeks is an editorial in the New York Times.

With all due respect, I would like to suggest that mr. Steve Levy is both a dunce and a rascall.

The immigration debate was fueled by racism and bigotry, the attitudes and actions of those teenagers were fueled by racism and bigotry, the entire chain of events is clear evidence of racism and bigotry. The killing of mr. Lucero and the debate about immigration are in effect, and in practice, two pages from the same book. If it weren't for the racism and bigotry that flourishes in small towns and among the under-educated, and the encouragement that such racism and bigotry have received from politicians over the last several years, it is unlikely that any one would have thought "let’s go find some Mexicans", even less likely that anyone would have considered acting upon that thought, and barely even conceivable that it would have been seven highschoolers.

Without the racism and bigotry which is fundamental to our immigration debate, mr. Lucero would not have been murdered.


Clearly there is a venomous atmosphere in the hinterlands.

Suffolk County may need to rethink its membership of the civilized world. And seriously consider making family planning and abortions easily available to the natives, because, dammit, the slope-brows are breeding.

JORAN VAN DER SLOOT AND WOMEN FLESH

You remember Joran van der Sloot? Joran is the gentleman who was involved in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba in 2005.


Neither the Aruban police nor the Dutch national police ever managed to pin her disappearance on Joran van der Sloot, and the Dutch press and public were adamant that he could not have had anything to do with it. After all, he was a well-brought-up Dutch boy, from a good family, whose father was a respected lawyer (Paul van der Sloot).
Natalee Holloway was merely an American high school girl (one strike against her), from the south (two strikes against her), distantly related to the Bush family (three strikes against her), who was drunk at the time.

The Dutch public was outraged at the attempt to blame Joran van der Sloot, and insisted that the young lady had probably run away to join the sex-industry in Latin America, and in any case deserved whatever happened to her.
Joran was innocent, and in their eyes Natalee was an American slut who only got what was coming to her.

Since then, tapes and casual remarks of Joran van der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers have pretty much established that they drugged Natalee, gang-raped her as she was dying, and dumped the body in the ocean.

Much of the Dutch public still feels that she got what she deserved.

After all, she was an American high school girl, from the south, distantly related to the Bush family, who was drunk at the time.

Drugging girls for the purpose of sex is common enough in the Netherlands that it does not excite much comment.


At this time, all evidence in the case, while establishing the course of events clearly, does not constitute actionable material to the Dutch authorities.

The Dutch public remains angry at crime reporter Peter DeVries for uncovering much of what actually happened.

THE DUTCH

Every day during lunch, I read the Dutch newspapers on the internet. And every lunch time, I am appalled at what the Dutch think. I am beginning to hate the Dutch.


That is to say, I'm beginning to hate the Dutch much more than all the other Europeans combined. A more venomous bunch of thieves, rapscallions, and blinkered hypocrites is hard to find. No other group, not even the Pakistanis, is as adept at overlooking their own frightful past, and seeing naught but our flaws.


The Dutch were major players in the transatlantic slave trade, murderous colonialists, brutal capitalists, and collaborators and war-profiteers.
Their slave colony Suriname was a byword for the sanctioned murder of blacks and natives, scarce improved when indentured labourers from Asia replaced the chained chattel. What the Dutch did in Indonesia for nearly four centuries can truly be called frightful - among other things, exterminating the population of one island (Banda, 1621), repeatedly decimating parts of Java (most recently during the construction of the great post road, during which millions were killed), scorched earth invasions of Atjeh and Bali, and the hardcore sadistic brutality of their first and second police actions after World War 2 (in 1947 and 1949).
In South Africa they and their descendants invented apartheid and created a society so dysfunctional and brutalized that the statistics for child-rape, sexual violence, and casual murder are truly horrifying, and in New Amsterdam they introduced the American Indians to the concepts of scalping, syphilis, prostitution, and alcoholism. Their rule in Ceylon was so much more brutal than the Portuguese that the natives welcomed the British as liberators. Dutch warships off the Malabar coast, during the hey-day of their hegemony, made the depredations of the Vikings look like flirtation.

This nation, with so few natural resources of her own (syphilis is NOT a resource), grew so rich from its exploitation of coloured people that even the Germans were astounded at the amount of art that could be stolen during their brief occupation of the Netherlands.

And yet these self-righteous pustules criticize all the countries of the world. But mostly, they criticize the United States. The Dutch hate America, they hate the American people, and they loathe and despise everything American - except for whatever they have borrowed or learned from us (for which, most of the time, we will not get the credit).


In the past I enjoyed visiting the Netherlands, having lived there for a while in my younger years. But after two weeks I would wish that the Dutch would just shut up with the anti-Americanism. By the final week, I would concentrate on stocking up on books and cigars to mail back to San Francisco, and otherwise quietly stick to myself, all conversations with the Dutch having by that time acquired a dreadful sameness - expressing the sincere conviction that the Netherlands was the acme of civilization, and that America was barbaric, her people inbred and stupid, everything good in the United States stolen from someone else.
Given the dreary repetition of those themes by so many Netherlanders, it is ironic that the Dutch believe that there is nothing original or imaginative in American culture. It must be the educational system in Holland - it produces little drones. When it isn't producing juvenile delinquents and soccer hooligans. Rotten rote arrogance in any case.



I no longer visit the Netherlands. I have no need to go to a place where I will be hated just because I'm an American.

At some point in the future I may visit Belgium again - the Belgians are too busy hating each other to bother much with us. But probably not the Netherlands.

ADDENDUM

I should mention that the times that we went to the Netherlands several years ago, Savage Kitten always enjoyed the place. This is probably because she has an advantage - she does not look American by Dutch standards. Many Dutch cannot grasp that a person can be of Chinese ancestry but also as American as Apple Pie (yet another thing that, according to most Dutch, we simply stole from someone else). Consequently they have always treated her as heir to a civilization, albeit one that doesn't quite come up to their high standards.............

I, on the other hand, am white. No Brownie Points for being a descendant of seventeenth century settlers in Nieuw Amsterdam, as obviously we went native, something a true Nederlander WOULD NEVER DO.
Let us conveniently forget that the Dutch sold the colony and all of its inhabitants to the English in 1674, then never concerned themselves with the place again.

An additional disadvantage is that I am fluent in Dutch. Surely this must mean that I think like them, and must also be a safe listener for them to express their loathing of America and Americans to? When it turns out otherwise, they do not hide their disappointment. A proper person would understand their point of view, instead of being so repulsively unapologetic.

THE DUTCH AND THEIR MISSING MARBLES: AHMED ABOUTALEB APPOINTED TO TOP JOB

It has been decided that the next burgomaster (mayor) of Rotterdam shall be Ahmed Aboutaleb, who is of Arab origin.
Mr. Aboutaleb is the son of an imam, and was born in Morocco. He has been a resident of the Netherlands for twenty-two years. He has dual-citizenship. And he is a practicing Muslim.


There are TWO problems with this appointment!!!


The first is that he is an Amsterdammer - not a positive thing in the heartland of FC Feyenoord. The Rotterdam soccer team has always been a rival of Ajax (the Amsterdam team), and the supporters of both teams are not at all averse to whacking each other. Several times over the last few years confrontation has become brawl, brawl has turned to murder. There are violent tendencies at play in Dutch soccer fandom.

The second problem is that his appointment is causing all the retrogrades to come foaming out of the woodwork. If you thought racism was a factor in American politics recently, you have not looked at the Netherlands, where being a Moroccan is nearly as bad as being a Jew in Czarist Russia. Consequently, the appointment of a Jew Moroccan as mayor of Rotterdam has got the bigots all a-flutter. Loudly so.


One would not have thought that the denizens of the world's first modern democracy, where the laissez faire approach to societal administration was born, would prove themselves so...... barbaric.

But no.

The internet commentary shows many of them to be utter scumbags. Anybody wading through the river of Dutch bile that has been dumped in recent days on the internet will have recoiled in disgust at the sentiments that, like fermenting cadavers, have risen to the surface of an already rank and putrid sewer. Even the Flemish nationalists are adding their sickening slime to the flow - Flemish Nationalist blowhard and politician Flip de Winter (Vlaams Belang) wrote that "de aanstelling van een Rotterdamse Marokkaanse burgemeester overal in Europa de arrogantie van de Marokkaanse allochtonen alleen maar zal doen toenemen" ('the appointment of a Rotterdam Moroccan mayor will only cause an increase in the arrogance of Moroccan allochthones everywhere in Europe').

Shut up, Flip, you're an idiot.


I would like to point out, at this juncture, that mr. Aboutaleb is Dutch.
He became an adult in the Netherlands, he was educated there, and his entire political career has been there. He lives there. His future is there.
At this point he is as Moroccan as I am.

Furthermore, even his political opponents have admitted that he is a very capable and intelligent man. By all accounts he is eminently suited to the job.

If his ancestry or his religion are enough to disqualify him in the eyes of many Dutchspeakers, then Dutch society is more poisonous than I had heretofore imagined.


When I was living over there, I had to put up with any number of horrendous comments about Jews and Americans - I am an American, and thus by the peculiar logic of the blinkered cretins in the Netherlandish bog, I am probably also a Jew - and I am relatively sure that most Jews in the Netherlands have likewise been held accountable for American sins. Especially in recent years.

Muslims in the Netherlands are probably not unaware of the festering hatreds beneath the bland and 'polite' surface of Dutch society either.


But to hold a person's ancestry and religion against him?
In the United States we may be considerably more advanced than the Dutch.


That he is an Amsterdammer should be the ONLY objection to the man.
And it is a very valid objection, because as everyone knows, the Amsterdammers are all Jews - that's why the Feyenoord supporters customarily offer to gas the Ajax fans at sporting events (traditional chant: "Hamas, Hamas, alle Joden aan het gas").
It is therefore not likely that mr. Aboutaleb can give Feyenoord his wholehearted support, certainly not without a feeling of nausea in the pit of his stomach.

He has my sympathy.

One of my regular commenters takes exception to another commenter. Hilarity ensues.


Well, actually, not quite.

LanceThruster had commented underneath my posting proposing pie for Finkelstein. Here's what he wrote:
"Dr. Finkelstein is a truth-teller. Should someone want to attack him for that I should think humble pie would be appropriate. "

I assumed that anyone who called Finkelstein a truth-teller was a committed member of the dark side and ab initio not worth speaking with.

As I let him know:
"My dear mister Thruster, I shan't debate with you, as you are clearly too delusional to be swayed. And besides that, with the user name you have chosen, you paint yourself as a male chauvinist with a tiny penis and a massive set of issues.
You are an uber creep. Get medicated. "

Perhaps not entirely the politest response I've managed in conversation with someone who is willingly and knowingly wrong. My bad.


Then Grant Patel noticed LanceThruster's contribution. And added his own:
"The problem with herr Finkelstein is that his scholarship has been shown to be both suspect and sloppy, his conclusions are not supported by the material (and he cherry picks perhaps more blatantly than many other "scholars"), and his well-publicized tiffs with others (most notably Dershowitz) are self-serving publicity seeking stunts.

Paul Larrudee and Allison Weir need to be investigated for ties to and funding from hostile foreign interests."

MUSLIM 'TOLERATION'

Grant Patel raises some interesting points.

The number of Christians in such countries as Jordan, Iraq, Syria, and Egypt has been falling precipitously for years as a result of persecution and government policies that favour Muslims. Virtually a low-level state sponsored Jihad - and it should be noted that the first and last listed of those countries are allegedly US allies.

The Bahai religion is virtually extinct in Iran, yet flourishes marvelously in Haifa, where the Bahai found succour from Islamic terror.

The Parsees fled Iran hundreds of years ago to get away from murderous Islamic tyranny.


I shan't even mention the Ottoman brutality that turned the Balkans into the most dysfunctional part of Europe, or the slave-raiding which Arabs engaged in for over a millennia. Which, by the way, continued under Saudi aegis until the sixties or seventies, albeit in a more southerly direction.

I shall, however, mention the Bada Ghalughara and the Chhota Ghalughara. In the first, the Muslim hordes slaughtered over thirty thousand Sikhs on February fifth, 1726.
In the second, the Muslims massacred over ten thousand on the banks of the Beas in 1746.

Both of these events should be considered inherited blots on the escutcheon of every Muslim, both of these actions make plain that Islamic rule is a curse upon a country, both of these events had no conceivable justification other than cruelty, baseness, and intolerance.
Both of those events are merely the two best examples of the bloodthirsty tyranny that prevailed in what was, at that time, the greatest of Muslim empires. And both of these events are merely blips on the radar if the total numbers of Sikhs killed by Muslims in the centuries since the rise of Sikkhism is taken into account.

Truly, the history of Muslims in the subcontinent rivals in its bestiality that of Muslims in the Middle-East. Nay, it might even surpass it - Pakistan as the Muslim portion of India has little to be proud of, and less validity as a state, than even Egypt or Jordan, or any of the blood-drenched failures of the Arab world.


I will not go as far as some of my Indian friends, who have expressed the sentiment that 'the only good Muslim is a dead Muslim'. Some of my best friends are Muslim.
But it would indeed have been better for the world if that horrid man had died before experiencing his hysterical visions and fits in the hills outside of Mecca, and never given his untrustworthy tribal kin an ideology that brought them out of the waste-lands. And there is almost nothing that compares to the depravity of the Ottoman, Persian, and Mughal empires.
