WHITE PEOPLE CHINESE TATTOOS

Sometimes you see tattoos on Caucasian skin that leave you asking what the victim thought. Or if they even thought. Especially when the tattoo uses Chinese characters, one or more words, that no one who reads Chinese would consider.

死亡然後恥辱
"Death and then shame"
This is fairly transparently "death before dishonour", but it could also be read to mean that the wearer should be killed first, and the corpse then horribly treated. Which actually might be a good idea.

我不知道那是什麼意思
"I do not know what that means"
It wasn't a good idea to ask whoever to translate something baffling and random. He or she wrote the Chinese phrase above in truthful response, but not as an accurate answer. Bad tattoo.

好活是最好仇
"Good life is good hatred"
Probably "living well is the best revenge".

生活好學

Somebody's girlfriend has this confusing Chinese text, tattooed in large characters, vertically down her back:

生活 Life
好 Good
學 Study

I am baffled. What does this mean?

Probably something impossibly abstruse and specific to Marin County.
Either that or the girl is a total idiot.

It could also be the title of a language textbook.
Simple English phrases for children.
