The U. S. State Department has a list of fifteen countries to which Americans should not go at present. What's surprising is how short a list that actually is. I can think of at least four dozen countries where for many reasons Americans are in danger or outright despised.
Afghanistan, Angola, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Belarus, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, British Guyana, Brunei, Burma, Chile, The Peoples Republic of China, Colombia, The Congo, Cuba, Denmark, Egypt, England, France, French Guyana, Georgia (Sakartvelo), Germany, Ghana, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Italy, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, The Kingdom of the Netherlands, North Korea, Norway, Pakistan, Paraguay, The Republic of the Philippines, Russia, Serbia, Somalia, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka Sudan, Surinam, Sweden, Syria, Tajikstan, Tunis, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Yemen.
SAFE COUNTRIES:
Finland. Finland and Swaziland. Just pretend Mbabane and Lobamba are London.
There you are, having a cappuccino at the local McDonalds, telling your tattooed husband about the fabulous aardvark leather shoes you bought at the nearby tourist crafts shoppe, when a herd of wildebeest stampede past, singing the national anthem.
You feel welcome as an American.
It's culture!
