WE CAN'T GET INVOLVED!

The response of the police forces in Fragrant Harbour to the mass protests leaves something to be desired. And this is understandable!
After all, they're eating Mr. Jaap Gan-peng's rice, so naturally their loyalties would be to Mr. Jaap and his associates.
Jaap Gan-peng is a bigwig in the north, in case you didn't know.

Some of Mr. Jaap's "friends" have decided to sexually harass and threaten women among the demonstrants.

The response of the police has been "we can't get involved".

Bullies have beaten up protesters, several of whom required urgent medical attention.

Triad members surrounded students, brutally injuring some of them.

It seems a very well-rehearsed response.

Several members of the police force have already resigned, because what they have been ordered to do goes against all that they have been trained to do. Increasingly, those that remain know that promotion and job security will depend on obedience to dictats.

The police are under the overall authority of the honourable Mr. Tsang Wai-hung (曾偉雄先生). Mr. Tsang Wai-hung (曾偉雄先生) takes his instruction from Mr. Liang Zhen-ying (梁振英先生). Mr. Liang, in turn, takes his orders from Mr. Taam Poon-wang (谭本宏), that being a stout Hunanese gentleman who listens to a soft-spoken individual in Yenking (燕京).
That particular person in Yenking has 'previous experience' dealing with fractious southerners..... Fukien (1999 - 2002), Chitgong (2002 - 2007), Seunghoi (2007).

At no stage in that chain of command is there any input from anyone who truly has the interests of the common man at heart, especially as regards incidental violence from thugs who have ulterior motives and also the backing of certain key players.
As long as the end result matches the pre-ordained plan, all will be well in their eyes.

And, given that there are a number of divergent opinions on the matter of the 2017 elections, it is only natural that some eggs will be broken if the students keep shaking the basket.


A revolution is not a dinner party.
