What goes better with your chop suey sandwich, chow mein sandwich, or egg foo yung sandwich, than Special Jiang's Sauce? Which is formulated specifically for universal American tastes, by the finest culinarists in the Middle Kingdom.
[Don't laugh. Americans really eat that stuff I listed. One of them is a famous regional specialty!]
SPECIAL JIANG'S SAUCE
Half cup water
Four Tbs sugar
Three TBS soy sauce
Two TBS vinegar
Two TBS ketchup
Two TBS corn syrup
1 TBS hot mustard
One TBS chili paste
Half tsp. sesame oil
Plus plenty minced garlic, and a dash of Tabasco
And a drop of red food colouring
Mix together, heat in a pan, let cool, and add to whatever muck strikes your fancy.
Goes with kung pao, eggrolls, hot 'n sour soup, crab raccoon.
If you're British, I suggest chips.
