The following is a letter sent to friends in the Netherlands, regarding the arrest of Radovan Karadzic. It is entirely "oyf Niederlandish" - this blogger is expressing his deepest sympathy to them over the eventual light that will be cast on the Dutch role at Srebenica. And also mentions, in passing reference, the active participation of their nation during WWII (no, they were not quiescent during the occupation - given their support for the German cause, it may be incorrect to keep calling it an "occupation"), and the glorious history of the Netherlandish involvement in South East Asia.

De arrestatie van de held van Srebenica kan onmogelijk goed uitkomen voor Nederland, daar hij wellicht transparantie zal schenken over de rol van Nederlandsche jongens in dat evenementje. En hoewel het merendeel der Nederlanders beslist het uitroeien van Islamieten en andere untermenschen goedkeuren (vandaar dat het zo lang geduurd heeft voordat men zelfs afwijkend over Srebenica sprak, of 'slands rol in WWII onder de loep nam, laat staan de glorieuze historie van Neerlands Oosten), is de rest van de wereld niet zo te spreken over zulke ellendige 'Ollandigheden.
Ik leef met u mee. U gaat moeilijke tijden tegemoet. Zelfs uw eigen verrotte pers zal eindelijk eens iets negatiefs over Nederland moeten schrijven. Ten diepste triest.

You seem to have an unholy fascination with the sins of the Dutch. You take delight in highlighting their failings, but concommitantly do not mention their positive side. This can be taken as bias; indeed, a review of everything you have written about them does not show a positive regard for the modern Netherlands, and displays a remarkable distaste for everything that is theirs.
I am left with a feeling of nausea. Not, as you might wish, for the Netherlanders, but more for someone who is remarkably unappreciative of the achievements of a small but significant player in our civilization. You should look within yourself, and try to discover from where your deep seated dislike comes. I doubt that you are impartial. I think that you are disturbed.

Edoch, reden van schrijven was slechts om het debacle weer op te halen. Dat was niet Nederland's mooiste dag. En daar veel van het Nederlandstalig geneuzel sneerend over oa Moslims is, kan de vraag beslist gesteld worden of de doorsnee Jan Kaas het niet met de Serbiers eens is. Hetgeen niet alleen mogelijk, maar ook waarschijnlijk is. En toentijde kan het beslist zijn geweest dat de Nederlandsche regering en militarie geen baat zag in een daadwerkelijke proteksie van die lui. Het waren maar jeweetwels, is het niet?

Point is, the Dutch gobmint insisted on extradition before admission, the Dutch public probably excused the massacre as both justified and of no significance, and there were probably Dutchmen on all sides in that war. As there were during the world war. The Dutch and Belgians joined up to fight on the eastern front, and killed Jews. Not with the mass enthusiasm of the Ukranians (shmei reshaim yirkav), but with an almost German attention to detail.
Do most Hollanders today even know where in China Srebenica is?
