ALL THE SPORTS I DO NOT NEED TO WATCH

For the sports-apathetic, Autumn in the United States is a three month span of ennui and minor irritation. Plus we find out who our friends actually are. Our friends are conversationally flexible. They do not talk incessantly about balls.

"Did you see the game yesterday?"

No I jolly well did not. No interest in it, or the sex lives of the players, or which brand of canned chili they like, which car they think everyone should buy, or which one of them took ivermectin, rogaine, or magic penis medicine.

Two very good friends cannot shut up about sports at this time of year. One is a football fan, the other loves baseball. Understandably they are both single.
Probably precisely because of that.

I tried watching sports on the telly once.
Good freaking lord almighty.

There's more to life than endless nachos and an excuse to swill watery beer.
By the way: your team sucks. Seriously. Just so you know.
