PROTEST ISRAEL IN THE GARDENS

Being a notorious pro-Israel agitator, and self-declared enemy of all that is Palestinian and sweetness and light, nay, even a fervent partizan of an objectionable Zionist cell here in the San Francisco Bay Area, oh horrors, I am often sent interesting tidbits from several people who wish to remain anonymous.

Such as the one below.

RESIST!

From: ------
Subject: Protest Israel in the Gardens! June 7th!

ISRAEL IS COMING TO SAN FRANCISCO
RESIST - SUNDAY JUNE 7TH, YERBA BUENA GARDENS

12pm - 4pm

On June 7th in San Francisco, Yerba Buena will host "Israel in the Gardens". This event will celebrate the state of Israel and its claims to diversity and progressive democracy. We protest this celebration. In reality, Israel's apartheid state is not a thriving democracy but a militarized, violent system that is attempting destruction of the Palestinian people and culture through the colonization of historic Palestine. Further, Israel is fueled by systematic racism against Arabs and Mizrahi Jews. Recently, as the devastating attacks on Gaza exposed Israeli contempt for human life, Zionists and supporters of Israel continued their propaganda and claims to Israel's "Jewish Values" and "progressive Diversity". On June 7th, a gay performer, Ivri Lider, will be headlining at Israel in the Gardens. Queer people reject this exploitation in the service of a racist state. Please join us as we protest this celebration of Israel in SF!

Meet on Mission Street, across from Yerba Buena Gardens at 12pm, Sunday, June 7th!

LILLY LOVE

But wait, there's more!
Not only are these self-alleged Jewish anti-Zionists going to be happily hate-festing in front of the event, they are also organized! And social-networked! Wheee!
As a lovely e-mail forwarded by another one of my anonymous friends so eloquently shows.

Report-back From IJAN International Organizers
Tuesday, June 2nd, 7p.m. Center for Political Education (522 Valencia)

You are invited to the Bay Area IJAN International Organizing report back to address these questions and more. IJAN International Organizers Sara Kershnar, Mich Levy, and Mariana Viturro will do a report-back from their recent international organizing tour, followed by a discussion on how this connects with local organizing and larger network development. This is a great opportunity for all of us to expand our lenses on the work we are doing, and further our understanding of IJAN's role as a cross-movement, liberatory Anti-Zionist Jewish network.

This is a report-back for local IJAN members only. Please do not bring non-members, as there will be a report-back the following week suited toward the general public.

To make this event run smoothly, we need a couple volunteers each to help set up, bring some food, and clean up. Please send an email to bay.ijsn@gmail. com Attn:volunteer to sign up.

You will note that the location mentioned is also where the Arab Resource And Organizing Center (AROC) is housed. Which is where the provocateur who started the chant about 'throwing Zionists down a shaft' can be found.

I wonder if her more rabid associates appreciate her hanging around with so many Jews, even if they are Quislings and collaborators?

Oh well - at least many of her new friends are zesty and well-equiped. Plus vibrantly involved. And what could possibly be more revolutionary than combining hugs and protest?

How very delicious.

Is that what the Tides Foundation is funding?

FTP SITE CLEANING - A MUST READ!

A colleague has sent an e-mail to the entire company. She does this with great regularity, as what she has to tell us is of earth-shattering importance. And we should all put our feed back in. Or acknowledge the gravity and greatness inherent in the communication.

Quote:

All,

I¹m in the process of cleaning out old files from the FTP site.
Just a reminder to delete any old files on the FTP site that either you or a vendor placed there on your behalf.
The FTP site is not intended to be a "holding tank" for your files. As of next Monday, April 27th and moving forward any files left on the FTP site (that are over 1 month old) will be deleted.
If you need to leave any files on the FTP site please let me know so I don't delete them.

Thanks for your help!

------------------------------

Well allrighty then.

Now I know how empty my life is. Lackaday, I have no clue whatsoever what the FTP site is, and now that you have let me know of its existence, I finally realize that there is this big hole in my life that only you can fill. But it may be too late!
I have not put ANY files on the FTP site! Ever!
I have missed the opportunity to assert the importance of my old files, whether "tank-held" or not.

Yes, ninety plus percent of the company probably also has no clue what the hell you are talking about either. That should NOT stand in the way of your inculcating a profound sense of loss in them over the cleaning out of old files (on the FTP site) that they never knew existed. They too need to realize how utterly, wrenchingly, agonizingly and appallingly EMPTY EMPTY EMPTY their lives are.
In contrast to yours, for you do know what the FTP site is, and you may decide which files are old.
And you feel obligated to tell us so.

Thank you.

BAGELS ARE A BIO-HAZARD

When I went to the office kitchen to throw my lunch container away a few moments ago, there were bagels and cream cheese on the counter.

I tossed them out.

No, I did NOT sadistically sabotage someone else's lunch! The bagels and cream cheese had been there since yesterday morning.
Of the many super-intelligent people in this office, I may be the only one who grasps that thirty hour old cream cheese is no longer at optimum edibility.

Same with the three-day-old roast beef sandwiches.
Those had been ordered on Friday for a meeting, and had later been left on the kitchen counter for whoever needed a snack.
They were still there Monday afternoon.

Last week's bagels and cream cheese had sat on the counter from Tuesday to Friday.

I blame the environmentalists.

You see, the office has gone green, and we are supposed to be conscientious about our waste. Instead of the comforting regular trash can underneath each desk and the big black bucket in the kitchen, which happily welcomed all disposables and smelled a bit, we now all have clean blue containers for what is called "white office paper" in our cubicles. And only 'white office paper' can be put in them - we will be spoken to severely if we are discovered to be putting anything else in there!

[Every evening Igor wheels his bin around for the trash, but usually there is nothing in most of the blue containers. Nothing. He's wasting time. And it seems to depress him. He probably feels useless.]

Whatever is not 'white office paper' now has to be separated into "recyclable cans and bottles", "cardboard", "miscellaneous plastic", "compost", and "other".
Yellow sticky notes, scratch paper, lunch bags, teabags - all are 'other'.

There are three colour-coded containers for "other", and an equal number for "recyclable cans and bottles", "cardboard", "miscellaneous plastic", and "compost", scattered around the office.
It has been emphasized that if we don't put things in the correct bin, there will be grievous repercussions! Al Gore will weep Tofu tears, and the Dalai Lama will come and get you!

[There are now also TWO bins in each bathroom - one for paper towels, one for 'other'. 'Other' in this context probably means bio-hazard.]

Two or three of my coworkers do indeed worshipfully take apart their pizza boxes for 'compost' (the bottom part, which has tomato sauce and grease stains) and 'cardboard' (the top, but only if it is clean), tear the plastic out of window-envelopes for 'miscellaneous plastic' (the rest to be deposited into white office paper), and empty their used teabags into 'compost', the bag itself, with string and staple going into 'other'.
The rest of us simply trot over to the big bin in the kitchen with handfulls of our collected clutter every two or three days, or save it all in an environmentally unfriendly plastic bag, to be dumped into the overflowing public trash bin on the way to the bus.

It is all a big pain in the sphincter.

Last week's bagels were delivered Tuesday morning (Tuesday is bagel day).
Someone wrote "happy bagel Tuesday!" on the whiteboard in the kitchen.

Yay, bagels!

Not all of the bagels were consumed.

In the following days, the sign was repeatedly modified.
"Happy Chew-toy Wednesday!"
"Happy Jawbreaker Thursday!"
"Happy Garlic Ranch Pringle Friday!"
"Happy Acid Reflux Saturday!"
"Happy Comatose Sunday!"

Yet nobody threw the damned things out.

My guess is that even though everybody saw them sitting there, they didn't want to have to choose: are these cardboard, compost, or other? A rather severe sermon could result from a wrong decision! And who really wants to tell the nice sincere treehugging individuals delivering such lectures that they are chock-full of compost?
