Meet on the corner of Larkin and Golden Gate in Downtown San Francisco
Counter what will be a large anti-Israel demonstration organized by Al Awda, ISM, MECA, Stanford Students Confronting Apartheid and other such anti-Israel groups, tomorrow at 3 pm at the Federal Building, 450 Golden Gate Ave. in San Francisco.
The message of the anti-Israel rally is built on the theme "40/60" meaning 40 years of "occupation" of the West Bank and 60 years of "7 million Palestinian refugees (in) exile."
The rally will support the Palestinian "right to return to their homes and repossess their properties."
In other words, conquer Israel and bring about Israel's destruction.
The rally is also targeting US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi for her support for Israel and to oppose a bill by US Rep. Tom Lantos that congratulates Israel on its victory in the defensive 6-Day War of 1967. The demonstrators mischaracterize the bill as a congratulating “40 years of Occupation!”
WE WILL MEET ON THE CORNER OF LARKIN AND GOLDEN GATE AT 2:45.
OUR MESSAGE: is not support for the "occupation" but rather
* demanding that the Palestinians make peace with Israel to end the conflict.
* We stand up for Israel against the demonizations, deligitimizations, and double standards applied to the Jewish state.
* We thank Congresspeople such as Pelosi and Lantos for their continuing strong support of the US-Israel friendship and alliance.
As always, feel free to make your own signs but please no signs or graphics offensive to any racial or ethnic group including but not limited to Arabs, Islam, or Palestinians. Signs in violation of our policies will not be allowed.
