PEACE AND LOVE

There are three hurdles this country must cross THIS year: a just trial (and conviction) in the George Floyd case, a real commitment to Police reform (and evidence demonstrating that), and voting Donald Trump out of office, along with Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, and a host of others.
Failure to do so, and we'll burn this mother down.

It would also be nice if Tucker Carlson got his ass kicked, but eventually someone is going to torch the Fox News Studios, and with a bit of luck he'll burn to death.



There. Now that I've got that out of the way, my weekend can start.

BUNKER INSPECTION

How blessed we are to have a man like noble Donald to lead us in these perilous times! You may have thought that being outraged about a nine year old girl getting pepper sprayed (Seattle Police Department), a seventy five year old man needing emergency room attention and hospitalization because of an assault by officers (Buffalo Police Department), or a crippled wheelchair bound homeless man getting shot in the face repeatedly with "non-lethal" rounds till his head is bleeding and he's in horrible pain (Los Angeles Police Department), would have grabbed his attention, NO!
He needed to inspect the fortified family room under the white House for proper Bible Placement. Having accomplished that sacred mission, he emerged triumphant, to brandish said Bible in front of the nearest vacant church. Huzzah! Evangelicals all sang hosannas.


Good thing that didn't happen in the SF Bay Area.


Here all the atheists, idolaters and antichrist-channelers would have ripped his pudgy ass to bloody puss-dripping shreds.


Statement from the apartment mate: "I hope I'm never such an asshole that I make the news". From which we can plainly see that she isn't Republican Presidential material. Nor need she apply for a job with the Seatle, Buffalo, and Los Angeles Police Departments.

Or the Denver Police Department, which shot teargas at a pregnant woman in a car.


Personally, I am overjoyed that Donald Trump spent time in the bunker. Many famous men have committed suicide in bunkers, so it's surely educational and character-building. It will teach him about placement for best news-photo effect at the very least.
On my next day off I shall spend several hours in church praying for a just and merciful outcome, as well as a clean and speedy burial, praise the lord, deep enough that the carrion birds don't carry off an eye.
Or two eyes.

I am a man of utmost peace and goodwill.
And keen about interior design.



Better yet, preserve both eyes in formaldehyde.
So they can follow you around the room.

I HAVE PREJUDGED YOU

Went to three Walgreens yesterday afternoon to upgrade my transit card. No luck. The two nearest ones are boarded up and closed, because of looters, the one in Chinatown was also closed. But for the time being they don't open past six o'clock, and I got there after that. All along Polk Street now shopwindows are boarded up. Everyone is scared of young suburban white men and their violently destructive opportunism.
Because, of course, San Leandro Chads need an outlet.
Can't stay cooped up forever.
Gotta loot.

A twenty block walk. With a bad leg. Counted over two hundred people not wearing masks, because Urban Chads do have an outlet: their faces.

In all honesty, the cops need to shoot Chads.
Before they find Becky and breed.



Yeah, I guess I am biased.

REIN IN THE CRIMINALS

In the past week there have been numerous videos and photos of police brutality aimed at civilians exercising their constitutional rights. With the encouragement of that craven man in The White House, his Attorney General, and Republican politicians (including the GOP chair in a Texas county spouting conspiracist drivel). There have also been a staggering number of incidents where local police forces deliberately targeted members of the press, with evident disregard for any safety or legality.
The number of threats by the men in blue has been astronomical.

In one incident which the entire world now knows about, the Seattle police pepper-sprayed a little girl in the face, hid their badges, and the Seattle authorities refused comment. Supporters of the police assert that it was the parents' fault for bringing their daughter to a "dangerous" situation -- a by all accounts peaceful demonstration which the Seattle cops turned into a melee, nota bene -- and the cops were justified in spraying her.
What else did you expect them to do?

The cops broke out the flashbangs, batons, and Mace.

The kid ended up terrified, of course.


According to many righteous white people, pepperspray is a legitimate method of crowd control, especially when small children are disobedient and possibly breaking curfew. For adults, kneel on their necks.


And, in an example of the destruction of our country under Trump, thugs from the Bureau of Prisons now "guard" parts of Washington, without any oversight by the legitimate authorities there, no identifications or name tags on their uniforms so that they can be held accountable, no badges, and no answers from the Justice Department or the president's henchmen about their deployment and command structures.

The President, his fan-base, his attorney general, and the Republican Party are all complicit in the worsening erosion of our liberty, and the brutalities that now are taking place.

It will take more than just words to return the confidence of normal people in the authorities. A good start would be badges and name plates fully visible, unlimited mobility and access for the press at all times during a demonstration, cameras filming everyone in uniform, and no damned Bureau of Prisons goons anywhere.


Plus an absolutely iron requirement that ALL officers, irrespective of their role or service branch, automatically state their names, numbers, and departments, whenever interacting with the public.

And William Barr should stand down.
Damn' well immediately.
He's unfit.



The Seattle Police Department, LAPD, and the Minneapolis police in particular, must be disciplined and completely reformed.

Bring these thugs to heel.

SUBURBAN WHITE BOYS

Went downtown today to transact some business. The large plate glass windows of my bank in the Financial district were intact, as were the windows of the building where you can get cigars. The young white suburbanite vandals had not come that far north. Different situation on Kearney Street, where the boarded up windows extended all the way from Market Street past Pine Street, over one block into Chinatown. Showing clearly that young white suburbanite vandals righteously hate hard working Chinese Americans, because they're the man, man!
Actually, young white suburbanites are bigots and opportunists.
It's easier to be righteous when you can hate too.
And who better than a quiet minority?

Fortunately they had not penetrated any further, and the building where my community health plan has offices was unscathed. The police on Sunday must have pushed them back or gassed them; I know that they arrested several of the thugs on Market Street later.



Meanwhile, in Washington DC ....

Apparently soldiers at Andrews and Belvoir are suited up, armed, and have been told to affix bayonets. They are ready to go. Just in case American Citizens need to be controlled.

How ironic in several ways that the authorities positioned a huge number of armed troops in front of that monument.


ELSEWHERE

There's a huge crowd of people in Lafayette Park. And we all know that the Tiny-Handed Man is scared that they might storm his bunker, drag him out screaming, and slowly tear out his guts with their bare hands.
Our military serves to protect the Tiny-Handed Man.

Many of my relatives were in the United States military, and proud of their service. There wasn't a Tiny-Handed Man in those days.

The army never told them about that.

OPINION: THE PERVERT MASS

Fires, looting, boarded-up storefronts, and indiscriminate police violence against peaceful protesters; we have become a shithole country. But it's the country that Fundamentalist Christians and Fox News wanted. Brad and Chad and Becky and Karen must be so pleased.

Really, what else is there to say?


One of the chief instigators of division and hatred is Tucker Carlson, leading light of Fox, who has the president's ear. In a recent "opinion" piece, he cast accusations widely, deflected blame from his side, and justified a law and order crackdown. While taking a savage swipe at Jared Kushner.
How easily the chickens turn on one of their own.

According to Tucker Carlson, what keeps Donald Trump from releasing the Kracken is that his "liberal" son-in-law constantly talks him out of doing what needs to be done and wants to free criminals in order to get a crucial share of the vote in November.

Tucker Carlson paints himself as a righteous true American, then calls everyone else a race baiting monster bent on destroying the country.


He should look to the man into whose ear he keeps cooing sweet nothings.
Who spent a large part of the weekend cowering in a bunker.
Wringing his little hands.


Tucker Carlson, Fundies, and bone spurs are what's wrong with America.


Events of the last week have probably given Tucker Carlson a permanent case of bowel incontinence.

ORANGE MUSSOLINI

This afternoon president 45 showed that he is incapable of leadership and an all-round piece of garbage by threatening to send the military into states where local officials don't crack down on protests. Which, essentially, would amount to hostile takeovers of states with Democratic governors. There is almost nothing he could have said that could possibly be more inflaming and enraging. And it pretty much guarantees violence and a dramatic increase in gun ownership.

It also guarantees that this evening will NOT be peaceful. Not in the city, not in the Bay Area. Police in Oakland used flashbangs and teargas before darkness fell, and because of curfews, whoever went anywhere to join a protest is committed to staying in there until tomorrow morning
Regional transit has shut down in many areas in any case.
In other words, tonight the sh*t will hit the fan.


"I am mobilizing all available federal resources, civilian and military, to stop the rioting and looting, to end the destruction and arson. And to protect the rights of law-abiding Americans, including your Second Amendment rights."


What the F does the Second Amendment have to do with any of this? Are you encouraging the gun nuts and outright Nazis among your supporters to become violent? How crazy are you?

There was still a crowd at SF City Hall long after curfew started. Hoping that they will disperse without incident is probably ridiculous; there are some very angry people there.
Dozens of people have been arrested this evening in Oakland.

[Union Square got hit over the weekend. As did Market Street. Tonight the mob may head up Polk Street. In which case I should be hearing helicopters soon.]


Trump calls the protest "domestic terror". You stupidass twat, you ain't seen domestic terror yet. Send your troops and the first deaths will be Republican Party members. And as far as dominating the streets, the citizens own the damn' streets.
Molotov Cocktails are within everybody's price range.
And we're angrier than you can imagine.

AVOID YOUNG WHITE GUYS

In a stunning leap of logic, the rioters yesterday decided that my local Walgreens may have had something to do with George Floy's death. Along with fancy clothing labels, trashbins and their contents, and several plate glass windows along Market Street and around Union Square.
Those rioters were almost all random white guys.
Young random white guys.

Whenever you see random white guys you can expect trouble.

Basically, young males of any dominant group are troublemakers, it's the nature of the beast, but America's younger white males are particularly toxic and inclined to be assholes. It may be time to cull the herd.
This generation is particularly vile.

Think about it. Rioters after sports games, gang rapists, drunken techno-yuppies at Vesuvio, looters along Geary Street, the vandals arrested last night at Sixth and Market, soccer hooligans, Brock the Palo Alto Rapist, the armies of the Confederacy, Martin Shkreli, frat boys, stock market speculators, the KKK, and Adolph Hitler; all young white guys.

Assisted and enabled in their destructive rampages by their vicious girl friend Becky and their mom Karen.


The most humane thing to do is to stun them, take them into custody, and release them into the national parks and the dessert.
After shooting the rabid ones, of course.



Also, make sure that local people in the cities are well armed, just in case there are any strays.

SHE SAW YOU!

There were helicopters in the sky in different directions two hours ago. This blogger does not like helicopters; they remind him of unpleasant places, humidity, and buggy things. Which I'm sure is not part of the programme. Tonight's protest and the necessary festive looting that will accompany it are supposed to be happy welcoming events!

In all seriousness, any movement will be "borrowed" by people with different agendas. That's just the nature of mass action. You could have a parade of stoned buddhist peaceniks moving down the street chanting slowly and beatifically about the peaceable nature of the noble sloth, and somewhere nearby a plate glass window would be broken and a hundred dollar pair of designer jeans would disappear off the shelf.

Let us all support the peaceable sloth.

The corner store was being boarded up when I returned home. The CVC a few blocks south was looted last night, the one on Van Ness was completely boarded up. When I went out for a quick smoke after curfew started there were very few cars, and as few pedestrians. The helicopters were still overhead; closer to the civic center area.



Market Street has wannabe looters ("random white kids") moving east, staying a few steps ahead of the police. Some activists are busy preventing destruction and vandalism wherever possible. Arrests are being made. The streets around my old office (near Montgomery Station) are chaotic. Cops, protestors, potential looters in conflict with both of the above .....

Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) stations closed down in response to unrest.
Cutting off escape routes.

Powell Street Station, Civic Center, Bayfair, Concord, Oakland 12th. Street, Walnut Creek, Hayward, Lafayette .....

Arrests soon on Market Street. Small group heading north on Kearny.

I CAN'T BREATHE!

While watching protest footage from around the country late yesterday evening, some of it live, the thought occurred to me that we've never been closer to needing guillotines in this country. Another thought that came to me was: "burn this fucker down". Because we have a serious and ongoing problem with racial inequality AND economic inequality.
When a handful of people can become obscenely rich, holding most of the wealth and resources of this country, we have a problem.

And it looks like the only reason why so many people feel they have a vested interest in maintaining this situation is fear and hatred. Sort of the "I've got mine Jack" attitude combined with a 'screw everyone else' mentality. Trumpism, Mitch McConnell, that whore Lindsey Graham, fundamentalists, and the pandering kiss-buts at Fox News.

SOCIAL COMMENTARY

The great thing about shelter-in-place and curbside service is that one does not have to listen to dumbass comments by the usual gang of rightwing extremist geezers in the backroom about "freedums!" and the burning of Minneapolis. They decided five years ago that ALL lives matter (except black ones), Kaepernick was an evil communist, and everything good and decent about this country was rotten. They know enough now to shut the "F" up about the sorry state of healthcare in this country, but even the most left-wing of them is an apologist for Trump.

Largely, they are braindead twats.

This blogger feels that burning Minneapolis is, under the circumstances, perhaps a rather logical thing to do. Understandable in any case.

THE FABRIC OF THIS COUNTRY

Years ago my apartment mate would wistfully dream of visiting the deep south and other parts of the country for the food. Being of Cantonese ancestry, food is a consuming passion for her. But the reality of American racism kept her from ever going there. Which, as it turns out, is a good thing. Because even though it is the twenty first century, there are still pockets of asshole everywhere.

During my first year back in the States (which I had left when I was two years old), I was told "we shoot people like you where I come from" (in San Francisco), "go back where you came from" (in Oakland), "You're a damned commie" (in Berkeley). That still happens.
Because I have an accent.
I'm white.

Here in the Bay Area it doesn't happen often. But it still does happen.


Most people are not like that. But there remains an underlying distrust and dislike of what is perceived as "other", and any tolerance is paper thin.


If you are white and doubt this, think of how often someone will still tell you a Black joke, an Asian joke, a Mexican joke, or a Jew joke.

Or think of George Floyd. Or Eric Garner.

Or "why don't you ask China?"


Irrespective of my apartment mate's non-Anglo ethnic background, she's more American than I am. Her daddy fought in WWII in an American uniform despite the racism then, and she has lived her whole life here.


But I can go to Texas or Minneapolis, and as long as I keep my mouth shut things will probably be okay.
